On this shortest day of the year, I am super excited to announce that I was selected to be on the Coeur Sports Elite Tri Team for 2014. Booyah!
I'm excited not just because Coeur makes super cute, super comfortable kits (they do, my Coeur kit rocked at Ironman Florida) or because Coeur selected an awesome group of pro and amateurs for their team (some of the pros include Kim Schwabenbauer, Beth Schutt, Kelsey Withrow and Katie Hursey and big shout out to Stacey Miller who was selected to the Ambassador Team), but because I believe in how Coeur does business.
Coeur is a small company that is run by a female visionary who believes that your beliefs are just as important as the product you make. I cannot express how honored I am to race for a company that believes that heart and courage can go hand in hand with creating a successful business. Take a look at the welcome message from Coeur to its athletes (it had me at hedgehog- and here's the specific hedgehog reference for those who don't know - and left me all warm and fuzzy inside with "Just like before a big race, it’s good to be a little nervous. It means you care. So, after a little break for the holidays, the gun is going to go off and we’re going to start racing forward.").
While today may be the shortest and darkest dark of the year in the Northern Hemisphere (I keep telling Shaun I want to do Western Australia in 2014 for the sunshine and he keeps saying "No"), its a bright day for me. I can't wait to get back to formal training for Challenge Atlantic City on January 6th and to kick a little ass in 2014.
