On the Cover of the Rolling Stone
On Wednesday I was contacted by NBC 30 Connecticut for an interview concerning the August 3, 2013 cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. This is my third interview with NBC 30 in four months and I think I have become their go to person on things related to the Boston Marathon.
I have a lot of thoughts about this issue, which are not yet fully formulated including concepts of freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Regardless, my first impression was that the cover was inappropriate and in poor taste and placed the bomber in same pantheon as Kurt Cobain, David Duchovny, Barack Obama and even Zac Efron. Those are the impressions I voiced in this interview (although the bulk of my statements about all the good that has happened since the bombing -- especially One Run for Boston -- were cut).
